How does ProjectFlow support project portfolio management?
With ProjectFlow, management and the PMO (Project Management Office) can gain a clear overview of their project portfolio and thereby ensure that all projects are strategically aligned with the organization’s goals.
The tool offers features to manage the portfolio’s overall priorities, risks, and resources, making it easier to make decisions about which projects should be prioritized and how resources can best be utilized.
It is easy to add additional governance parameters in portfolio management via the “Fields” function and extra lists via the “Lists” function, ensuring that ProjectFlow supports your organization’s governance model. It can be tailored to selected project types, so that, for example, complex projects have more governance fields and more lists than simple projects. Through the “Fields” function, you can, for example, create a number field that represents the payback period. Through “Lists”, you can, for example, create a list for complex projects to capture “Lessons learned”, which can be used when initiating new projects.

How does ProjectFlow handle resource allocation and capacity management?
One of the biggest challenges for many organizations is effective resource allocation. ProjectFlow makes it easy to visualize and manage resources across multiple projects. The tool allows you to see which resources are available and ensures that no one becomes overloaded. This helps optimize the use of internal resources and reduce resource bottlenecks.
With resource management, you can, for example, start with a high-level plan on a quarterly basis, and once the tool has been implemented, the level of detail can be increased further to monthly or even weekly planning for selected projects. Starting at a higher level makes the solution easier to implement and maintain afterwards.
Customers who need it can easily add a resource management workflow, allowing resource managers to approve resource requests from projects. Entries can be made in hours, FTE (Full-Time Employee), and percentages, making the input flexible.
Capacity is easily maintained based on employees’ standard working hours minus planned absences (vacation, etc.).

How does ProjectFlow support both traditional and agile project management?
ProjectFlow is flexible and supports both traditional waterfall project management and agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban through integration with Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Planner. This makes it an ideal tool for organizations that work with hybrid project management approaches, where some projects follow a more traditional approach while others apply agile principles. The tool allows PMOs to choose the best method for each project and ensure that resources are aligned with the selected approach.
